Rules

Participation in the Beer Alps Competition is possible in the categories "Hobbybrauer/Home Brewers" and "Gewerbliche Brauereien/Commercial Breweries".

  • All hobby brewers residing in the Alpine region who do not distribute the submitted beers commercially are eligible to participate in the "Hobbybrauer/Home Brewer" category.
  • All breweries that produce the submitted beer in the Alpine region are eligible to participate in the "Gewerbliche Brauereien/Commercial Breweries" category.
In the "Gewerbliche Brauereien/Commercial Breweries" category, the beers must be commercially available for at least three months before or after the Beer Alps Competition.

Participants must register by 16 September 2024.

The submitted beers must be registered for the relevant category by 16 September 2024 and before the beers are submitted.

The amount of the registration fee depends on the number of beers submitted and the category. The amount to be paid can be viewed after registering the beers.
The fees are:

"Hobbybrauer/Home Brewer":

  • 35€ per beer
  • from the 3rd beer onwards, €25 for each additional beer
  • maximum amount of 150€

"Commercial Breweries":

  • 75€ per beer
  • from the 5rd beer onwards, €50 for each additional beer
  • maximum amount of 500€

Participants must transfer the registration fee for their beers to the account specified on https://competition.beeralps.com/pay by 20 September 2024 or pay in cash when handing in their beers at the Stammtisch XXL on 27 September 2024. In the event of non-payment, the registered beers will be disqualified.

After registration of the beers and payment of the participation fee, a later non-participation and thus a refund of the participation fee is no longer possible.

The beers are tasted and assessed according to the BJCP classification criteria. Beers must be classified accordingly when registering. The participants themselves are responsible for classifying their beers accordingly; subsequent changes are not possible.

The beers of the BJCP Guidelines 2021 are permitted for the Beer Alps Competition 2024. In addition, the unofficial beer style X10 - Österreichisches Märzen, which was introduced at the Austrian Beer Challenge 2024, is also permitted.
A list of all beer styles can be found at the "Info" section.

The beers will always be judged according to their BJCP category, but the organizers reserve the right to place them together with other beers if there are too few entries within a BJCP category.

By registering, participants agree to the conditions of participation, which can be found here:
